Music and poetry have for centuries tried to tell the same story – the human experience of love, passing, memory, longing and wonder. “Alma Concerts Meets Poetry” is an attempt to bring these two languages together again; although different, they spring from the same source. The series takes the listener through four distinct worlds of European imagination: from Heine’s Romantic landscapes, through Lorca’s symbolic Andalusia and Rilke’s metaphysics, to Shakespeare’s universal world.
