Irena Josifowska is an award-winning cellist and laureate of the Gabrielli International Cello Competition in Berlin as well as the Jean-Nicolas Firmenich Prize awarded by the Verbier Festival Academy. She studied with distinguished teachers and has developed an international career based between Germany, Switzerland and other European countries.
She has appeared at renowned festivals including the Verbier Festival, Krzyżowa-Music and the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, collaborating with world-class artists such as Gidon Kremer, Steven Isserlis and Christian Tetzlaff.
Her artistic activity encompasses both solo and chamber music performances. She is particularly interested in projects that create dialogue between music, literature and other artistic disciplines. Her playing is admired for its noble sound, expressive depth and refined musicality.
