Jerzy Schejbal is one of Poland’s most distinguished theatre, film and television actors and a professor of theatre arts. For more than five decades he has been associated with some of Poland’s leading theatres, including the Polish Theatre, the National Theatre and the Contemporary Theatre in Wrocław.
Throughout his career he has worked with renowned directors such as Jerzy Grzegorzewski, Kazimierz Braun, Krystyna Janda, Andrzej Seweryn and Jacques Lassalle. He has appeared in productions of Shakespeare, Chekhov, Mrożek, Norwid and Krasiński, creating performances that have become landmarks of contemporary Polish theatre.
His distinctive voice, refined diction and extensive stage experience have made him one of Poland’s most respected interpreters of literature and poetry. Projects combining theatre, music and spoken word occupy a special place in his artistic work.
