Joolaee Trio

Joolaee Trio was founded in 2021 through the long-standing collaboration between kamancheh virtuoso Misagh Joolaee, pianist Schaghajegh Nosrati, and percussionist Sebastian Flaig. The trio made a highly praised debut at the Rudolstadt Festival in 2022, which led to performances at venues including Sendesaal Bremen, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Jazz Meets World in Prague, Heidelberger Frühling, and Pierre Boulez Hall in Berlin. Their musical language blends rhythmic originality, lyricism, and expressive virtuosity with subtle silence. Drawing from Persian, classical European, and contemporary music, they create a unique sonic dialogue between cultures. Most of their repertoire consists of original compositions, complemented by their arrangements of Turkish and Persian folk songs.
