Four musicians, four musical languages – Electrotango Soundscapes brings together classical music, jazz, Tango Nuevo, and electronic sound in a concert that bridges tradition and the present.
At its center: Omar Massa, one of the leading bandoneonists of our time, praised by critics as “a composer building bridges to classical music while preserving the inner melancholy of true Tango Nuevo.”
Together with Jerzy Chwastyk (guitar), Miriam Helms Ålien (violin), and Marcos Meza (synthesizers & piano), Massa creates a rich and contemporary tango sound from the fusion of electronic textures, Tango Nuevo, and traditional playing techniques – at times driving, at times lyrical, always deeply rooted in the soul of tango.

Omar Massa (Argentyna) – bandoneon
Composer and bandoneon player Omar Massa was born in Buenos Aires in 1981 and has been living in Berlin since 2019. Internationally recognised as one of the leading artists in the field of Tango Nuevo and bandoneon, he has received several nominations for the Opus Klassik, Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik and International Classical Music Awards in Europe as composer of the year and instrumentalist of the year.
Jerzy Chwastyk – gitara
The guitarist has won prizes at renowned international competitions. These include the Concurso Sigall in Chile and the Concurso Fernando Sor in Madrid. He also won second prize at the Andres Segovia Competition in Linares in 2016 and was honoured at the Certamen Andres Segovia in La Herradura.
Miriam Aliens (Norwegia) – skrzypce
Praised for her ‘extraordinary musicality’ and ‘maturity far beyond her years’, Miriam Helms Ålien (born 1991) is one of the most exciting young artists to emerge in Norway in recent years. Born in Alta in northern Norway, she began playing the violin at the age of 6.5 and, since her solo debut at the age of 8, has been a soloist with many Norwegian orchestras, as well as orchestras in Germany, Israel, Denmark, Italy, the Czech Republic and Russia.
Marcos Meza (Chile) – syntezator, instrumenty klawiszowe
A Chilean pianist, composer, arranger and music producer based in Berlin, whose work combines classical, impressionistic and neoclassical sounds with elements of electronic music. His performances are characterised by an intimate relationship with the piano, taking the audience on contemplative journeys inspired by Chilean landscapes and folkloric imagery.
