Praised by international critics as one of the most outstanding and unique jazz groups of their generation, the trio has captivated jazz audiences globally. Their emotionally charged performances leave a lasting impression with deep expressiveness and pure musicality.

Over the past three decades, the Marcin Wasilewski Trio has become synonymous with innovation and storytelling through music. They also spent over 20 years collaborating with the legendary Tomasz Stańko in his Quartet.

They have released eleven albums, including seven with the prestigious ECM Records in Munich, garnering a record-breaking 11 Fryderyk Awards in Polish jazz history.

Since 2018, they have continuously won the “Best Acoustic Band of the Year” title in the annual Jazz Forum “Jazz Top” poll. The editorial comment praised them for their residency at New York’s iconic Village Vanguard alongside saxophone titan Joe Lovano.

Among many accolades, Wasilewski was voted a “rising star of the piano” in DownBeat Magazine’s Critics and Readers Poll in 2005 and 2011. Four of their albums also charted on Billboard’s Jazz Album Charts. In Germany, the trio was nominated for the German Jazz Award 2022.

Following their acclaimed live ECM album Live (2018), they released Arctic Riff with Joe Lovano in June 2020 during the pandemic. Interestingly, a day before that session, they recorded another trio album, later released as En attendant.

In 2022, they toured Europe with Lovano again and played numerous festivals. They also performed in New York for the “Remembering Tomasz Stańko” concert alongside Ravi Coltrane, Ambrose Akinmusire, Chris Potter, and others. Later that year, they played with Nils Petter Molvær and Avishai Cohen, including at the EFG London Jazz Festival 2022.

November 2023 marked a great prelude to their anniversary year, as Joe Lovano invited them back for a weeklong residency at the Village Vanguard. Their 30th Anniversary Tour 2024 took them across Europe, North America, Asia, and Poland, concluding at Warsaw’s Teatr Roma.
